This post contains affiliate links and I may earn a small commission if you decided to click through and sign up for any of the tools mentioned. This is at no extra cost to you and in many cases, I have negotiated deals to get you better pricing. As always you can choose to skip my links and Google it up.

Believe it or not, this is one of my favorite activities! In this article, I am going to show you how I did it, what tools I used to get it done, and how you too can create a large library of content to share across multiple social media channels, all with one initial content piece.

Do this strategy for several campaigns and you will fill your content calendar up in no time not to mention establish yourself as a leader in your field.

In this example, I started with a video script. I want to start by saying that just because I use video as my initial step, does not mean you have to. You can start with what works best for you.

Video happens to be my bread and butter. I have two YouTube channels and I LOVE creating how-to videos that help marketers in their business and with their clients. When I am creating a video I first script out my videos. I find it is easier to edit my videos after the fact when I have a script to work from. I also have a teleprompter so that makes my life miles easier. The additional benefit for this is I basically already have a blog post written by the time I am done. I just have to make a few tweaks and BAM, the blog post is ready to rock!

If you do not do pre-scripting for your videos don’t sweat it! Just use a tool like Rev.com to get a transcript. Then you or a VA can easily turn your transcript into a blog post. Rev is pretty affordable too. You can pay to have a full and highly accurate transcription for $1.25 per minute or if your video has crystal clear and easy to understand audio, you can try the ai version at $0.25 per minute. The other key benefit of the Rev transcription is it is timestamped. This makes it super easy to scan through and pull out key quotes and fun facts to use in your social media content. More on this in a bit.

Here is a link to my latest video where I employed this exact content strategy: Are Link Shortener’s Bad? (I have also linked to my blog posts below for your reference).

Okay, so far we have a video for YouTube and a blog post. I personally post my blogs on both my website blog and on Medium to get a bit more readership on my content. I use a tool called AgoraPulse to schedule out social media posts to 3 different Facebook pages, 2 different Facebook groups, my LinkedIn company page, my LinkedIn personal profile, and my twitter account.

AgoraPulse is hands down my favorite social media scheduling post.

AgoraPulse is hands down my favorite social media scheduling post. I have been a social media manager and digital marketer for the past 14 years, so I have tried my fair share of social media scheduling tools! I LOVE the ease of scheduling but also the inbox zero helps me keep track of all the messages and comments I get across my various social media profiles AND I get awesome reporting to stay on track with what is working and adjust my strategies as needed.

A screenshot from my inbox inside of AgoraPulse. YAY! Inbox 0 achieved!

Now that my blog posts and my YouTube videos are scheduled to go out on most of the social media channels I head over to Canva, which is the tool I use to create my YouTube thumbnail, among other graphics, and I resize my image to fit an Instagram post.

You can see here I am able to easily go and resize my designs to fit all kinds of platforms and dimensions.

Now I have a content piece to help promote the new video on Instagram. I schedule that out on AgoraPulse too.

I also use the re-post tool in AgoraPulse to have a tweet go out every month for the next 6 months sharing my video since most of what I create is evergreen.

I also love Instagram stories, so while I am on the Instagram kick, I will hop on my Instagram stories and let people know about my new video and give them a reason to go click the link in my bio to learn more.

Let’s Keep It Going

Sure, we could be done here. But why stop here when we can go much further? So I decided to take that blog I wrote and create some stellar social media content. For this, I turn to a tool called Missinglettr to create different types of social media posts that include quotes taken from my blog. I use this to schedule content over the next 6 months for Twitter and LinkedIn.

I could also include Facebook but I personally have a different strategy on Facebook so I skip it in this case. I do however use AgoraPulse to share a single post to the various places on Facebook I like to post. I will schedule this to go out in a couple of days so it does not bump up against my youtube video content on the same topic.

Here is an example of one of the images that MissingLettr generates for my social campaigns. They make it super easy to create pieces like this because the system automatically selects the quotes and social media copy to go along with each image.

I don’t want to spend the time doing all that, so MissingLettr does it for me.

You don’t have to use a tool like MissingLettr to accomplish this type of social media content. If you have the Rev.com time-stamped transcript you can go through and pull out quotes yourself and just create your own quote graphics in Canva. But I don’t want to spend the time doing all that, so MissingLettr does it for me.

By the way, you can get 50% off the first three months of Missinglettr using my partner link at https://lttr.ai/WOtO

Now that I have a blog I head over to InVideo and create a quick and easy video that lists some key highlights from my blog. It is far shorter than the YouTube video and I am not on this video. This video is typically 30 seconds long. I create a video for Facebook and Instagram. I share them using InVideo’s native share tool or if I need to space it out to not butt up against my other content, I use AgoraPulse to schedule these out.

Based on this specific topic I could go further and create at least 2 more of these info-videos off of my one YouTube video topic. Talk about a content generator! InVideo makes this insanely easy to create. It took me about 10 minutes to do the video above. If you want to try InVideo out for yourself you can start using them free or upgrade by using my coupon code Kelly50 and get 50% off of your price for the year!

Midway Point

Okay, where are we?

YouTube Video — ✅

Blog — ✅

Info-Video (short and sweet) — ✅

Social media content ready to rock for both — ✅

But we are not done yet. I happen to have a podcast (two actually). My Business as Unusual podcast is about digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and my favorite tools and resources. The Baby Got Bot Podcast is about chat marketing. So depending on the topic, I go and record an episode of that podcast. I use Anchor.fm to record and distribute my podcast. So now I am on all the major podcast platforms from iTunes to Spotify and beyond! Plus, because I am on Spotify I can also share to Instagram stories and have a clickable link to my podcast episode even if I don’t have 10k followers.

You can have an awesome podcast that is SUPER easy to create with transitions, background music, and more all distributed to the best places all for free.

That is a bonus for a small channel like mine. And did I mention that Anchor.fm is FREE. Oh yes, my friends. You can have an awesome podcast that is SUPER easy to create with transitions, background music, and more all distributed to the best places all for free. It’s true love.

Anyway back to our content. I now head over to Headliner and create a couple of teaser audio wave videos for my podcast. Headliner is great because it creates teaser audio with a video aspect to share on various social media channels.

I again turn to AgoraPulse to schedule these all out and help promote my podcast episode over the next 6 months.

We are nearing the finish line. But knowing me, I was pretty animated in my YouTube video so I headed over to Giphy and created a couple of gifs pulled out of my YouTube video. I usually can get 1–3 gifs out of one YouTube video. For this campaign I only got one:

I have a business Giphy account so now my gifs are searchable on social media channels, slack channels, and anywhere Giphy is available. Currently, I have 14.2 Million views on my gifs. Feel free to check out my other gifs over on my Giphy channel at https://giphy.com/search/stellar247. I love to mix up the ways I present my content so it always seems fresh and new and Gifs are no exception!

Now that I have all of this great content scheduled out and filling my AgoraPulse schedule from now until whenever I choose, I could be done. But come on, do you think I would stop here when there is still one more seriously powerful content piece we could create? That’s right, I did a live broadcast. And not just to Facebook but I multi-streamed to Facebook, YouTube AND Periscope (Twitter). I accomplished this with Restream.io.

Restream is the best way to multi-stream to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and 30+ streaming sites at once. (Get 15% off of Restream.io with my special coupon code KELLY15 https://stellar.tips/restream (AF))

Live streaming has a great way of building a community and developing your personal brand even more.

I love multi-streaming for several reasons. First, it creates a better connection with my audience making it far more engaging. Live streaming has a great way of building a community and developing your personal brand even more. I love being able to see all the comments coming in from the various platforms in one place so I can answer questions on the fly.

So let’s recap the content that was created with this campaign:

Initial content piece: Video script

  1. Video on YouTube
  2. Blog post on Medium
  3. Blog post on website
  4. Social media posts scheduled for the next 6 months using Missinglettr for LinkedIn & Twitter featuring highlighted facts and quotes.
  5. Agorapulse scheduled YouTube video share for all social networks plus re-post on Twitter for the next 6 months
  6. Info-video using InVideo
  7. Podcast episode
  8. Instagram story connected to Spotify for podcast
  9. Headliner podcast teaser shared across social networks using AgoraPulse
  10. Gifs created from video using Giphy — Learn how to do this at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj_jq1zBLng&t=9s
  11. Resize YT thumbnail in Canva and create a post for Instagram.
  12. Live broadcast on 3 different platforms simultaneously.

So the core of my content is created and by now I have likely moved on to the next content campaign. But in this particular campaign, I did one more thing. I created a poll in my Facebook group.

Polls are a great way to create engagement in your Facebook groups plus it can give you valuable insights into what your members are using or doing in their own marketing. In fact, it would be even better to add the poll prior to doing the live broadcast because it gives you more to talk about. Additionally, you can ask an open-ended question like “What questions do you have about link shorteners” so you can be ready with pre-submitted questions for your live broadcast.

Polls are a great way to create engagement in your Facebook groups plus it can give you valuable insights into what your members are using or doing in their own marketing.

All in all, you can see that it is fairly easy to create a great deal of content off of one content piece, giving you plenty to share on social over the year. Do this strategy for several campaigns and you will fill your content calendar up in no time not to mention establish yourself as a leader in your field. If you can streamline this process or even map it out and hand it over to a VA you can be a content creation machine the likes that the world has never seen! Your competition won’t know what hit them.

Now we have work to do! You have content to create and I am off to repurpose this very blog you just finished reading. Watch out for the video, podcast and all the other great content on this topic coming soon.

P.S. If you want to have a ton of content created but you don’t want to put in the work, I offer this service as well. Feel free to reach out to me at Kelly@stellar247.com.
